Last updated: 30 April 2025 · Effective date: 30 April 2025
These terms govern your use of the Bao Hin website and your participation in our programmes. Please read them with care before registering for any programme or submitting an enquiry. If you have questions, write to us at [email protected] before proceeding.
1. Definitions
In these Terms, the following words carry the meanings given below:
- "Bao Hin", "we", "our", "us" — Bao Hin, operating from 145 Holland Road, #06-12, Singapore 278658.
- "Programme" — any educational session, course, or private programme offered by Bao Hin, including The Household Hall Discussions, The Singapore Household Investment Course, and The Hall Track.
- "Participant", "you", "your" — any individual who uses our website, submits an enquiry, or registers for a Programme.
- "Content" — all materials, written notes, booklets, and information made available through our website or Programmes.
- "Agreement" — these Terms and Conditions, together with any programme enrolment confirmation issued by Bao Hin.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By submitting an enquiry through our website or registering for a Programme, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not submit an enquiry or register.
Our Programmes are designed for adults. You must be at least eighteen (18) years old and have the legal capacity to enter into binding agreements under Singapore law to participate. By proceeding, you confirm that both conditions are met.
3. Description of Services
Bao Hin offers financial education Programmes conducted in Singapore. Our current Programmes are:
- The Household Hall Discussions — a three-session introductory programme covering household finance, CPF and protection, and introductory investment considerations. SGD 230 per household registration.
- The Singapore Household Investment Course — an eight-week course on household investing in Singapore, covering investment categories, funds, fees, savings instruments, and market steadiness. SGD 420 per registration.
- The Hall Track — a seven-session private programme tailored to a household's financial picture, conducted over approximately three months. SGD 800 per household engagement.
All Programmes are delivered in English in Singapore. We reserve the right to adjust Programme content, format, or scheduling with reasonable notice.
4. Enrolment and Confirmation
Enrolment in a Programme is confirmed when Bao Hin issues a written confirmation by email and payment is received in full. Submitting an enquiry does not constitute enrolment and does not reserve a place.
Group Programmes (The Household Hall Discussions and The Singapore Household Investment Course) are subject to minimum and maximum group sizes. Bao Hin may defer or combine sessions where attendance does not meet the minimum required, and will communicate any such change to confirmed participants with reasonable notice.
For The Hall Track, session scheduling is agreed between Bao Hin and the registered household at the outset of the programme.
5. Payment Terms
All fees are quoted in Singapore Dollars (SGD) and inclusive of applicable taxes. Payment in full is required prior to programme commencement unless alternative arrangements have been agreed in writing.
Accepted payment methods will be specified in the enrolment confirmation. Bao Hin does not store payment card details.
Fees are not transferable between Programmes unless agreed in writing by Bao Hin.
6. Cancellation and Refunds
We understand that circumstances change. Our cancellation terms are as follows:
- Within 7 days of payment — a full refund will be issued, provided the Programme has not yet commenced and the written cancellation request reaches us before the first session.
- After 7 days but before the first session — a programme credit of equal value will be issued, usable against any Bao Hin Programme within twelve months.
- After the first session has been held — no refund or credit will be issued for sessions already delivered. Bao Hin will consider requests on a case-by-case basis where significant personal or medical circumstances apply.
To request a cancellation, please write to [email protected] with your name, programme name, and confirmation number. We will acknowledge your request within two business days.
If Bao Hin cancels a Programme for any reason, participants will receive a full refund or the option to transfer to an equivalent future programme.
7. Participant Responsibilities
As a participant, you agree to conduct yourself with consideration toward other participants and our staff. You will not disrupt sessions, record sessions without written permission, or share session materials in any form without Bao Hin's written consent.
You are responsible for providing accurate information when submitting an enquiry or registering for a Programme. Bao Hin cannot be responsible for errors arising from inaccurate information provided.
You agree not to use our website in any manner that interferes with its proper operation or the experience of other visitors.
8. Intellectual Property
All content on this website — including text, course materials, printed booklets, and programme outlines — is the property of Bao Hin or its contributors and is protected by applicable intellectual property law. Nothing in these Terms transfers any intellectual property right to you.
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, personal right to use materials provided as part of a Programme for your own household financial learning. You may not reproduce, distribute, or publish these materials in any form without the prior written consent of Bao Hin.
9. Disclaimers
Bao Hin provides financial education only. Nothing on this website or in any Programme constitutes financial advice, investment advice, legal advice, tax advice, or any other professional advice. You should consult a suitably qualified professional before making any financial decision.
Participation in a Programme does not guarantee any particular financial outcome. The value of investments may go down as well as up. Past market behaviour is not a reliable indication of future results.
Our website and Programmes are provided on an "as available" basis. We make reasonable efforts to maintain accuracy but do not warrant that information on our website is complete, current, or free from error.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by Singapore law, Bao Hin's total liability to you in connection with any Programme or these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid for the relevant Programme.
Bao Hin shall not be liable for any indirect, special, or consequential loss arising from your use of our website or participation in a Programme, including but not limited to loss of income, loss of savings, or financial decisions taken based on Programme content.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for fraud, death, or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law in Singapore.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Bao Hin and its facilitators against any claim, loss, or expense arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of Programme materials, or any inaccurate information you provide in connection with an enquiry or enrolment.
12. Termination of Participation
Bao Hin reserves the right to remove a participant from a Programme where their conduct is disruptive or harmful to others. In such circumstances, fees already paid will not be refunded for sessions delivered.
You may withdraw from a Programme at any time by notifying us in writing. Refund or credit entitlement will be determined in accordance with Section 6 of these Terms.
13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. Any dispute arising from or in connection with these Terms will first be addressed through good-faith discussion between the parties.
If a resolution cannot be reached through discussion within thirty (30) days of written notice, either party may refer the matter to the Singapore Mediation Centre. Both parties agree to attempt mediation before commencing formal legal proceedings.
The courts of Singapore shall have non-exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute that is not resolved through the steps above.
14. General Provisions
- Entire agreement: These Terms, together with any enrolment confirmation, constitute the entire agreement between you and Bao Hin regarding the subject matter herein.
- Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
- Waiver: Bao Hin's failure to enforce any provision of these Terms on a given occasion does not waive its right to enforce that provision in future.
- Assignment: You may not assign your rights under these Terms without Bao Hin's prior written consent. Bao Hin may assign its rights to a successor entity without notice.
- Notices: Formal notices to Bao Hin should be sent by email to [email protected] or by post to the address in Section 16.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Where changes are material, we will notify confirmed programme participants by email at least fourteen (14) days before the changes take effect. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
Continued use of our website or participation in a Programme after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
